The traditional interview format, with its carefully crafted questions and rehearsed answers, often feels…distant. It lacks the spontaneous energy of a genuine conversation. So, we decided to try something different. We put Vice President Kamala Harris in front of a search engine’s autocomplete function and let the algorithm drive the conversation. The results were, to say the least, illuminating.

The Unexpected Questions

The autocomplete feature, known for its uncanny ability to predict user searches, offered a glimpse into the public’s current preoccupations regarding the Vice President. Questions ranged from the expected ("Kamala Harris policy on...") to the surprisingly personal ("Kamala Harris husband..."), and even the downright bizarre ("Kamala Harris and..." – the autocomplete suggestions here were quite varied!).

This unconventional approach bypassed the usual political rhetoric and allowed for a more candid exchange. Instead of prepared soundbites, we heard direct, unfiltered responses from the Vice President. For example, the question about her policy on climate change elicited a detailed explanation of the Biden-Harris administration's initiatives, moving beyond the typical campaign slogans. The personal questions, while initially surprising, led to insightful reflections on her family and her journey in public service.

One of the most revealing aspects of this interview was its ability to address concerns circulating online, often fueled by misinformation or outright falsehoods.
